Beautifly Magazine
The Beautifly Magazine project is a series of fanworks in the Pokémon universe, imagining what a high fashion magazine like Vogue or Vanity Fair would look like in that world. Featuring original human character designs, each cover of Beautifly revolves around a specific theme.
“Girl’s Best Friend” Issue
This cover, inspired by dressed my original character Yolanda Hurt as Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. This character is a glamorous thief and incredibly materialistic, and prizes her partner Pokemon, called Pyukumuku.
Outfit lineup for this character
Champion Issue
This issue celebrates the championship of my character, Roberta Van Knighton. Inspired by the photography of Annie Leibovitz, this composition is meant to emphasize the glamor and power of her position.
Champion Issue
This issue was inspired by the fashion of the MET Gala, featuring my character Pierre St. Clair and his Gardevoir.
Character exploration for a different design direction
Summer Issue
The original piece for this project, this was a commission for my client’s original character. They requested her on the cover of a fashion magazine, which is what provoked me to design the Beautifly branding.
